According to new allegations from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unknown, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized exclusive visits for Maxwell and her visitors.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her private aide.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has considered,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told friends and family in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her former location.

This past summer, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and urged the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any promises to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
