Our Fault Review – Highly Polished Spain-Based Stepbrother Drama Is Too Bland to Cause Irritation
This third installment in a well-known saga, coming after previous entries titled My Fault and Your Fault, has been brought to screen from the Culpable trilogy. Aimed at a specific audience, it delivers a predictable mix of melodramatic flair, love-centered plots, and luxurious settings. Yet, despite these intentions, the script comes across stilted and overused, particularly in translated subtitles.
Story Summary
New viewers could end up confused by the storyline, as the final chapter presumes prior knowledge with past installments. Nevertheless, the central dynamic involving the lead characters is easy to grasp: ex-partners who once shared a step-sibling connection when their parents married in their adult years. Against the backdrop of a sun-drenched Ibiza wedding, they reunite, argue, and eventually part ways—only to come together late in the film.
Meanwhile, the heroine pursues a romantic link with Simon, as her ex handles his career in formal attire. Introducing conflict, a villainous character named Michael—looking similar to Nick—attempts to disrupt their lives.
Visuals and Tone
Shot in breathtaking Spanish seaside locales and the UK capital, the film boasts a polished, magazine-style aesthetic. Plenty of focus is devoted to outfits, ceremony planning, and beautiful views. A constant musical score of electronic pop tracks in multiple languages fills quiet moments, yet the final result is more bland than engaging.
In the end, the film proves too mild to offend or even irritate—rendering it inoffensive yet unmemorable.
